Drake and Lil Wayne have been closely related for the past few years. In fact, Drake can owe a lot of his fame to Weezy, but now, he is a household name that is co-touring with Lil Wayne in 2014. The tour has been under close wraps for quite some time, but some big news has recently been released: Drake has stated that this will be a rap battle type of event.
The tour begins on August 8th and will make its way from New York all the way back to Los Angeles during its 7-week, 31 city span. VIP tickets actually provide fans with a little merchandise to enjoy. Included in the pre-sale tickets are a hat, beach towel, trading cards and a tote bag.
Lil Wayne is said to be retiring after his Carter V release which has been delayed for quite some time. However, the album does feature Drake in its recently released single “Believe Me” which was released in May. Weezy has not given a final setlist that he will perform, but fans can expect to hear “Believe Me” before the night is over.
Drake is on a high in the industry and has been seen collaborating with everyone from his tour rival to the likes of Rihanna. “The Motto” and “Unstoppable” are two songs that are speculated to be on his setlist, but he has been known to easily add and remove songs during previous shows.
The one interesting fact about the Drake vs. Lil Wayne tour is that no one knows if there will even be a real setlist in place. In fact, since news broke about this definitely being more of a rap battle, no one knows what to expect. It will be quite interesting to see how the tour transpires with these tour figures rapping against each other.
