Riding high on the release of their new album American Beauty/American Psycho, Fall Out Boy is heading out on tour this summer. But they won’t be touring alone. The pop-punk band will be co-headlining with rapper/singer Wiz Khalifa on their “Boys of Zummer” tour. The tour will stop in 40 cities before coming to a close in early August. Wiz Khalifa will be promoting his 2014 album release Blacc Hollywood.
The summer tour will launch on June 10th in Camden, New Jersey and make its way across the US before finishing up at the Hollywood Bowl in LA on August 10th.
Fall Out Boy released their six studio album American Beauty/American Psycho on January 20th. The album’s first single “Centuries” has already been certified platinum. The release comes shortly after the band’s fifth studio album Save Rock and Roll. The band’s fifth album was their first release since their hiatus that spanned from 2009 to 2012.
Fans can expect to hear “Centuries” as well as “Immortals” and the band’s old hits “Sugar, We’re Goin Down,” “Thanks for the Memories,” and “Dance, Dance”.
Wiz Khalifa will share the stage with the band. Hoodie Allen will serve as opening act.
Not set list has been confirmed for any of the acts, but fans can expect Wiz Khalifa to perform “Black and Yellow,” “Rolling Papers,” “Roll Up,” “Young, Wild & Free,”and “No Sleep”.
As for Hoodie Allen, he’ll be performing “No Interruption” and “People Keep Talking”.
General tickets for the tour went on sale January 23rd at Live Nation.
Fall Out Boy is a pop punk band from Chicago that was formed in the early 2000s. The band rose to fame in 2005 with their album From Under the Cork Tree. The band’s previous release Take This to Your Grave was an underground success. The band’s first major release produced two hit songs, “Dance, Dance” and “Sugar, We’re Going Down”. The band took a hiatus from 2009 to 2012 before releasing their fifth album Save Rock and Roll. The band’s 2003 release of Take This to Your Grave is regarded as a vital blueprint for the pop punk music scene in the early 2000s.
Wiz Khalifa is an American rapper and singer from Minot, North Dakota. His debut single “Black and Yellow” peaked at number one on Billboard’s Hot 100. Khalifa released his debut album Rolling Papers in 2011 followed by O.N.I.F.C. in December 2012. His second release produced the singles “Work Hard, Play Hard” and “Remember You”.
