Fall Out Boy and Paramore’s Monumentour is well under way, and fans are saying that both bands pack quite a punch with their performances. The two pop-punk icons have been selling out arenas and amphitheaters across the country.
So what can fans expect from the Monumentour? Energy, excitement and a bit of nostalgia. Haley Williams of Paramore has been hitting the stage dressed as boxer with Kool-Aid blue hair and playing the part well, kicking and punching the air during her performances. The band has been opening the show with their hit “Still Into You” and closing with their current hit “Ain’t It Fun.” Expect plenty of confetti, streamers and beach balls to fly around during Paramore’s 75 minute set.
Fall Out Boy will close the night with stage antics you would expect from towering rock shows with sparks, smoke, pyro and a drum-off. The band even covers Queen’s hit “We Are the Champions” complete with a piano rising from underneath the stage.
Fall Out Boy certainly knows how to put on an exciting show, and they sound just as great as the show looks. The band’s setlist includes their hits “Dance, Dance,” “Sugar, We’re Goin Down,” “The Phoenix,” “Save Rock and Roll” and “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark.”
This is the first time these two bands are touring together, but they have a lot in common. Both share a record label and both rose to fame at the same time. Both bands also faced uncertain futures after Paramore’s founding members left the band and Fall Out Boy decided to take a break in the mid 00’s.
Both bands have since made huge comebacks and are both riding high on successful album and single releases. By the looks of things, Monumentour is a rebirth for two bands with very bright futures.
