The 2014 Vans Warped Tour is well under way, having made stops in 21 of 44 cities during the summer tour. After nearly 20 years, the Warped Tour’s day-long music festival still attracts large crowds and is one of the biggest tours of the summer.
When the tour first opened in 1995, it was the perfect marriage of skateboarding and punk rock music. Today, the bands are much more diversified and the tour attracts an equally diversified crowd. Hardcore, punk, acoustic and even hip hop acts are all included in the tour’s lineup. More than 100 artists will participate in the tour, including:
The Warped Tour will include nine stages: Electric Soul, Kia Soul, Monster Energy, The Journeys, WARHEADS, Beatport, Acoustic Basement, Ernie Ball and Conquer Shiragirl. The official tour website lists all of the artists performing on each stage and the dates they will be performing.
Each year, the tour attracts a very young crowd, mostly young teens looking to enjoy some of their favorite bands and discover new up-and-coming artists. To keep kids safe, parents are allowed to join their children for free. One complimentary parent admission is given to any minor who purchases a ticket to the show.
Doors open at 11AM and the show closes at 9PM. Fans can enjoy an entire day filled with music and entertainment. Ticketholders can gain early entrance to the show by donating three canned goods, a cell phone or $5 to the Feed Our Children NOW! Tent.
To make it easy for fans to get to the show, the Rock & Bus independent bus service offers transportation to and from the show for an added fee.
The Vans Warped Tour will come to a close on August 3 in Denver, CO at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
